About

We are Tony (sometimes known as tonyB) and Vanessa, and we grew up in El Sobrante, California.  El Sobrante is a suburban town in the San Francisco Bay Area, but it has a bit of a rural feel as well.  It's kind of a horse town, especially back in the seventies, when we pronounced the name "el sobranny" and not "el-so-brahn-tay" the way it's actually pronounced in Spanish.  El Sobrante, by the way, means "the leftovers."

Our goal is simple:  eat our way through every establishment that serves food in El Sobrante, from the mom-and-pop hot dog stand to the big fast food chains to the taco truck parked on Appian Way.  We'll snap some photos and offer some commentary and maybe see if a current or former El Sobrantan or two wants to join us in our endeavor.  

So come check in with us from time to time.  We won't make you eat the leftovers.
